OPPO Indonesia , FORWAT dan AJI Salurkan Donasi Rp100 Juta Untuk Jurnalis Yang Terdampak Covid-19
Jakarta, 1 September 2021 - Pandemi Covid-19 yang telah terjadi sekitar 2 tahun lebih di Indonesia belum juga reda. Jumlah orang terinfeksi Covid 19 masih saja ada hingga saat ini, termasuk kalangan jurnalis yang menjadi salah satu profesi paling rentan. Mereka yang terdampak Covid-19 tentu membutuhkan dukungan untuk melewati masa sulitnya.
Guna membantu meringankan beban jurnalis yang terdampak Covid-19 di Indonesia, Forum Wartawan Teknologi (Forwat) berkolaborasi Aliansi Jurnalis Independen (AJI) mendapat kepercayaan dari OPPO Indonesia untuk menyalurkan donasi sebesar Rp100.000.000 (seratus juta rupiah).
Bantuan ini akan diberikan kepada jurnalis, terutama yang meliput di sektor teknologi dan telekomunikasi. Meski demikian, Forwat, AJI dan OPPO Indonesia tetap membuka peluang bagi jurnalis lainnya secara umum.
" Bagi OPPO sungguh menyakitkan ketika mendengar kabar rekan - rekan jurnalis yang terinfeksi virus Covid-19. Dalam situasi seperti ini, OPPO mengedepankan untuk dapat meringakan beban rekan - rekan jurnalis terutama yang terdapmak Covid-19. Penyaluran melalui Forwat & AJI dipilih karena kesamaan tujuan untuk tidak hanya membantu rekan - rekan jurnalis secara umum, namun juga keluarga inti yang terdampak. Semoga apa yang kami lakukan dapat bermanfaat dan menjadi contoh untuk industri saling merangkul untuk membantu sesama" ujar Aryo Meidianto, PR Manager OPPO Indonesia.
Ketua Umum Forwat, Danang Arradian, mengatakan selama ini Forwat bersama rekan-rekan jurnalis telah beberapa kali melakukan penggalangan dana untuk membantu rekan sesama profesi yang terdampak Covid-19. Kolaborasi antara Forwat, AJI dan OPPO Indonesia dimaksudkan agar bantuan bisa menjangkau lebih banyak jurnalis, terutama di sektor teknologi dan telekomunikasi dan jurnalis umum lainnya.
“Forwat mengucapkan terima kasih kepada OPPO yang menjadi vendor yang paling sigap menunjukkan kepedulian dan empati terhadap teman-teman jurnalis yang terdampak Covid-19,” ujar Danang. “Semoga bantuan ini bisa meringankan beban teman-teman yang terdampak Covid-19” ujarnya.
Sementara itu Sekjen AJI Ika Ningtyas mengatakan selama ini banyak rekan jurnalis yang terdampak pandemi Covid 19 selama ini. “Kolaborasi seperti ini memang diperlukan untuk membantu banyak rekan jurnalis yang terdampak akibat pandemic Covid 19. Baik jurnalis yang berstatus karyawan tetap, kontrak hingga freelance” ujar Ika.
Program penyaluran donasi tersebut akan dikelola Forwat yang berkolaborasi dengan AJI. Penyaluran ini akan dimulai pada September 2021. Jurnalis yang terdampak Covid-19 dapat mendaftarkan dirinya sendiri dan atau keluarga inti (istri/suami, dan anak) untuk bisa mendapatkan bantuan donasi ini.
