Workshop Human Rights and Safety for Journalist

The Alliance of Independent Journalist (AJI) by supporting Norwegian Embassy will organize two days workshop on Human Rights and Safety for Journalist as the Pre Event of World Press Freedom Day 2017. This workshop is address to leverage journalists knowledge on human rights issue, also sharing best practice and experience on digital safety for journalist.

The workshop sessions will offer journalist issues on local situations of human rights in Asia, trauma reporting, self-care, resilience, and issues related to self-censorship, and safety digital for journalist including its best practice. The workshop will be deliver in Indonesian with English translation, and some speakers will be speak in English with Indonesian translation.

Objective

1. To share knowledge about human rights issues and the relation with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and journalism
2. To share knowledge and best practice on safety digital and physical for journalist

Participants

There is maximum 60 seat available, that is open for journalist and student.

Below is the requirement of participants:

• Journalist who are interest and passion in human rights issue.
• Student (currently attending university) who are interest and passion in media, communication, and journalism.
